The nucleus Paragon Espresso was created in collaboration with Zurich University of Applied Science (ZHAW) after researching the effect of temperature on volatile aroma compound preservation and the resulting sensory flavour outcomes in coffee. Through extensive research and development, nucleus and ZHAW have designed a new brewing device that retains up to 40% more volatile aroma compounds.
The 30mm diameter chilling rock size for the Paragon Espresso is smaller than the Paragon Filter rock and has been designed to suit espresso. The chilling rock is a core component of the Paragon Espresso. Constructed from food-grade stainless steel and coated with a layer of highly durable titanium, its spherical shape and large surface area allow for even and rapid chilling. Offering greater thermal capacity, the high-density liquid gel centre maintains colder temperatures for longer, and freezes faster than hollow or water-filled alternatives.
The design of the Paragon Espresso Mounts ensure that brewed espresso cascades over a chilling rock in a thin layer, allowing for desirable volatile aroma compounds to be retained while maintaining the temperature of your espresso. They are also height-adjustable to accommodate different cups and espresso machines and is designed with anti-slip grips.
Each Paragon Espresso comes with two Paragon Espresso Mounts and four Chilling Rocks and is ready to bring excellence to your espresso.

At Silver Scooter Coffee Co., we want you to love your coffee and equipment. If you’re not completely satisfied with your purchase, we’re here to help!
Returns
We accept returns on unopened items within 30 days of purchase. To be eligible for a return:
- The item must be unused, in its original packaging, and in resalable condition.
- Proof of purchase (receipt or order confirmation) is required.
- Return shipping costs are the customer’s responsibility unless the return is due to our error.
Once we receive and inspect the returned item, we’ll process a refund to the original payment method. Shipping fees are non-refundable.
Exchanges & Defective Items
If you receive a damaged or defective item, please contact us within 7 days of delivery with photos of the issue. We’ll work with you to arrange a replacement or refund.
For used or opened products, issues must be addressed through the manufacturer’s warranty. Many of the coffee machines and accessories we carry include manufacturer warranties, and we’re happy to assist in guiding you through the process.
